My youngest brother lost his battle with melanoma. This picture was taken at the July 4th picnic this year.
Steve's passing was very personal. He and I split the farm on which we were raised. We were family and we were neighbors.

Last fall, 2014, Steve and his wife where part of a party of six on a September backpacking trip in Yellowstone National Park. This is Scout Pool near Union Falls. When I saw Steve after he told us abut his cancer, we chatted a minute about the diagnosis. Then the next statement out of his mouth, "I still want to go to Yellowstone". We had a good trip.

It felt great to sit underneath the waterfall. The water was pleasantly warm, geothermal.

Steve built a deck on Indian Creek, the irrigation canal on the north border of the property. Family gathered at the swimmin' hole after the memorial service for Steve. Steve would have approved.

In May, I and two friends spent four days hiking in Hells Canyon on the Idaho Oregon border. This is Suicide Point. Look close in the top right corner to see my two hiking buddies.
